Cultural Connections

Cultural Connections is a committee that represents the fusion of nationalities, ethnicities and cultures within the US and at Cottonwood.  This committee will organize activities to celebrate our diversity and promote inclusivity through food, music and dance with the goal of building bridges and educating young minds.  Sign up for this committee by selecting it on our Volunteer Interest Form.

Schedule of Events

  • Welcome Breakfast & Kick-off Meeting – August 22, 8am: Meet and Greet for all members to plan and make recommendations for the upcoming year. Breakfast provided in the cafeteria; Spouses and little kids are encouraged!
  • Taste of Cottonwood Carnival Booth – Oct 4, 3-6pm
  • Family Holiday Party – Dec 5, 6pm: Bring your favorite holiday dish and a fun holiday craft to do with the kids. Musical performances highly encouraged!
  • Multicultural Festival – March 12, 6-8pm: Celebration of Cottonwood’s cultural heterogeneity with student presentations, crafts, food potluck and cultural performances.

There will be a 30-minute planning meeting prior to every event. Timing & Location to be determined.
