VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: PICTURE DAY & SOCK HOP

We need volunteers for the following:

  • Picture Dayplease click here if you can help on Wednesday, February 12thVolunteers will receive a voucher for discounted pictures! 
  • Sock Hop: We need a few more volunteers for the night of the event.  We have 2 hour time slots available here.  You can sign up for one or both!  In addition, if you are able to volunteer for a different time frame, please email Courtney Taylor at court.taylor20@gmail.com.  Courtney will reach out to all volunteers with additional details.

CCSD Art Show

SUBMISSIONS FOR THE CCSD ART SHOW

Would your child like to submit one of their works of art to be considered for the district art show in March?

  • What: The CCSD art show will showcase 10-12 pieces of art from Cottonwood Creek.
  • How:  Please complete the attached form AND artwork to the front office. The artwork submissions will be selected by a group of staff and volunteers.
  • When: All submissions due by February 25th.  Please return attached form AND artwork to the front office.
  • Artwork created at home or at school can be considered for submission.​

Kindie and 1st Grade Girl Scouts Opportunities

KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADE GIRL SCOUT OPPORTUNITIES

Calling all Kindergarten and 1st grade girls! Join Girl Scouts of Colorado for a Daisy Fairy Garden on Thursday, February 13th from 6-7pm in the Koelbel Library Conference Room.

Girls will get to work on a fun craft, while parents can learn about Girl Scout troop and volunteer opportunities, how to start a troop, and all the ways your girl can grow with Girl Scouts.

Picture Day is Coming 2/12

INDIVIDUAL AND CLASS PICTURE DAY – FEBRUARY 12th

  • What: Individual and class picture day
  • When: Wednesday, February 12th
  • How: Order forms will be coming home this week in each student’s home folder. Individual pictures will only be taken of students who return the form with payment on 2/12 or if you have made payment online https://ios.mydorian.com PRIOR to 9AM on 2/12.  No late forms or online submissions for individual pictures will be accepted. To order class pictures online, the link will be open until the end of the school year or please return the order form with payment the day of pictures.  Additional forms are available at the front office

Cottonwood Sock Hop

THE SOCK HOP IS COMING ON 2/28!

Join your fellow Cottonwood Cougars as they flashback to the 1950s for a good ol’ fashioned sock hop. Grab your poodle skirt or your penny loafers and head on over to West Cafeteria at Cherry Creek High School!  DJ & dancing included!!

*Please Note: This is not a drop-off event. Parent supervision required.

  • What: Mark your calendars for the annual Sock Hop dance!
  • When: February 28th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Cherry Creek High School West Cafeteria.

Fifth Grade Continuation Information

5th GRADE CONTINUATION INFORMATION

It is hard to believe, but the 5th Grade Continuation Ceremony is just a few short months away!  The continuation video is always a favorite part of the ceremony.  Please read below for important information regarding how to submit your photos for the video.

  • Who: All 5th Grade Parents
  • What: Submit five photos for the 5th Grade Continuation Video
  • How: Please  click here for information on how to submit your photos and for more information on the type of photos needed.  You should also have received this information via email.
  • When:  Pictures are due by March 8th.  The Continuation Ceremony will be Thursday, May 21st at 8:30 AM

Cottonwood’s International Night

COTTONWOOD’S ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL NIGHT (FORMERLY MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL) – MARCH 12th

  • What: COTTONWOOD’S ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL NIGHT (formerly Multicultural Festival) Organized by Cultural Connections.  We need participants for our kids fashion show, performances and presentations.
    1. ​​Kids Fashion ShowKids dress up in clothes from around the world during the assembly and in the evening.
    2. ​​Performances:
      • Kids can sing or dance or act, solo or in a group. These are all amateurish, very fun and a great way for kids to bond together. Typically practices need not take more than a few weeks and choreography may be found on youtube.
      • We need representation from: China, Korea, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Mexico and South America, North America, South Africa, Europe (we have volunteers for the Ethiopian and Bollywood dances).
    3. Presentations: Kids create a presentation using a template that will be displayed (should not take more than 4 – 5 days to create).
      • We need about 7-10 parent run groups to create our global experience
      • Each group would have about 3 kids (your own and friends) and would be assigned to a randomly chosen country
  • ​​When: Thursday March 12, 2020 from 6PM -8PM

The rumors are TRUE!! Our beloved Colorado band, THE SAMPLES, will be playing at our live auction on 4/17 @ the View House.  The money raised during auction week helps fund Teacher Assistant salaries, school enrichment programs, subscriptions, teacher grants, buses for field trips, and much, much more!
